Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success (Alma 26:27).

Baptism and Staying Here

Saludos desde España a todos! / Greetings from Spain to all of you!

What a busy week!!!

Well, we went to Barcelona twice for medical things, since I haven´t been feeling too good recently. However when I went on Friday the doctors said everything was well and the ailment that had been bothering me for the last few weeks was finally gone! And now I feel a lot better and the Lord is truly blessing us here!

Traveling to and from Barcelona in the train

Well, despite the many trips to and from Barcelona, we had a baptism of a nine years old girl!! And her mother, came all the way down from Aranda (near Burgos) to see her baptism! We had a total of 14 people come from Tortosa and it was a real spiritual experience. Mother and daughter gave their testimonies and they both ended up in tears because they were so happy that they were able to experience this point in her life together.

After the baptism, we received the news of transfers! I was going to stay in Tortosa and my companion Elder Montalbo went to Marratxi, Mallorca, the islands, and it is a lot hotter out there than it is here. I also found out that my new companion is Elder Burton, who was with me in the same piso in Gandía! He is from Eagle Mountain, Utah, speaks Spanish great, loves everyone, and is really excited to work here! We are going to see a ton of miracles together!

At McDonald's for my companion Elder Montalbo's farewell
Well, that is all for this week I guess. The members here are excited because the stake has put into action big things for Tortosa! So we will see what happens soon.

And a scripture for this week is in 2 Nefi 2:6, very small, but very true.

Os quiero! Hasta la semana que viene!!! / Love you all! See you next week!!!

Highest Attendance Numbers!

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another week in Tortosa!

We had no baptism this week, because the girl’s mother is coming down this weekend from Burgos to see the baptism, so we decided to postpone it.

But anyway, I was in L´Hospitalet for a couple days because I went to a hospital called Quirón, to check out some medical stuff that I am going through. Everything is fine, just need to check up on a couple of things. And well, we did an intercambio, in which I stayed with Elder Dailey, one of our Zone Leaders and my old District Leader in Cornellà. We had a great time together!! We talked to a lot of people, taught a lot and we had a lot of good spiritual experiences together!

Well, when I got back to Tortosa, the work picked up again. On Friday, we decided to pass by EVERYBODY possible and invite them to church on Sunday, because our goal is to have 45 people in church so that we can become a branch. On Saturday, I woke up and I felt terrible! I could hardly move out of my bed! But I prayed to the Lord to give me strength and He gave it to me, so we went out and invited everyone possible. So for like 5 hours we just invited everybody we could. Then on Sunday, we started church late, but we ended up with 41 people in church and 12 investigators!! It was a huge miracle! We were so excited! That was the highest number of attendance that the group has ever had! So we are really excited for what the future will bring!

Church meeting on Sunday
And to leave you all with a scripture, it is in 3 Nefi 4:33, about how we know when the Lord has forgiven us, I recently found this Scripture and I love it!!!

Thanks for everything! Love you all!!

Digital Era Training and a Great Week!

P-day in Tortosa today Monday @ the Royal Schools founded by Carlos V in 1564.
Reales Colegios de Tortosa, fundados por Carlos V en 1564. Colegio de San Jaime y San Matías.

Alright everybody, I hope this week has been good, because it has been really good for us!

We have had a lot of meetings this week so we haven´t had a lot of time in Tortosa. We had Digital Era training where Elder Timothy Dykes and Elder Steve Allen talked about how we can use technology to advance the work of the Lord, and it was a special event, because ALL of the mission was there and I was able to see all of my old companions! It was a great experience, then on Thursday, we had specialized training, in which we learned how to begin teaching someone better. It was good to refresh on the basics jaja.

Let´s see, on the weekend, some members threw together a party for Mother´s Day, and there were about 20 people there!! We were able to share a message and there were some friends of members there that had interest in the Book of Mormon, the problem is we don´t have any extras!! We will be getting a re-supply this week hopefully.

At the party for Mother's Day and all the yummy food!

I was also able to see my family for Mother´s Day!!! I want to say a special thank you for my family, for always supporting me and loving me, and I want them to know that I love them a lot!! It was so great to see them!!! Happy Mother´s Day to the best mom in the world!!!!
Talking with my mother

Also talking with my family in Spain and my grandparents in Utah

And this week, we have a baptism planned for a girl, 9 years old, who went from not believing to believing in a matter of a couple of weeks, so please keep her in your prayers that everything will go well this week!

And the scripture for this week is in Helamán 15:3, which explains why we have trials in our lives, because God loves us. Thanks for everything!!! We will see you next week!!!

Rising Success

So this week has been a pretty busy week in Tortosa, we have found 10 new investigators, we had 10 investigators in church, and we have three people who have accepted an invitation to be baptized, so please include them in your prayers!!! That they may be baptized on the 16 of May!!

But we are also getting a lot of help from members. I mean, in church yesterday, we had 7 kids! We had to do our own primary class, the first time it has been done here!!! So we are growing and we are recognizing that the Lord knows that we are ready to receive them.

But other than that, we have been visiting pueblos, like St. Carles de la Rápita, where a huge family lives of like 15 people that have interest in the church, but only 5 can come every Sunday because of the travel restrictions, bleh :P So pray that they all can come to church, because we are growing and we just need a little bit more until we can become our own branch!!!

We also did an intercambio, or an exchange, where I went to Tarragona with Elder McCreary from Canada. We worked our tails off and it was so hot jaja. We were dead by the end of the day, but we visited good people and they said they would all come to church (don´t know if they did jaja).

With Elder McCreary
And to leave a scripture, we can find it in Helaman 13: 24-26. I relate this to our day today when people reject a true prophet of God and how only few accept him, how the things of the world are called good and the things of God called bad.

And a Happy Mother´s day to the best mom in the world! My mom! Estefania!!! I love her so much, thanks for all the support and the love you give me, and will see you guys soon!!!!
