Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success (Alma 26:27).

Saint Jordi

Hey everyone!

So this week was a pretty busy week, we went to a lot of pueblos and visited members that had not received visits in a long time, so it was good to see them. We lose time due to traveling, but those people need visits and we were blessed by it when they came to church on Sunday for the first time in a long while! Yes!!!!

We also celebrated a holiday called Saint Jordi, a day where we hand out free books to people, although mostly it is people selling books, but we gave them out for free and we gave out Books of Mormon! We took about 90 books and we handed out about 85 and received 26 numbers from people! We started at about 9 in the morning and we stopped around 8 o’clock. Then we took some carts around with the rest of the books that we had and went around in the street handing them out, but you would be surprised how many people reject a free book! It is super fuerte :P

Giving out free books for Saint Jordi holiday
But this past week was good, the stake has big plans for us, and we are growing, which is good :) Just want to leave with a weekly scripture in Helamán 6:4-5 where the lamanites become more converted to the Gospel and the blessings that they receive from it.

Bueno, eso es todo! Have a great week everyone!!!

Stake Conference!!

Hey everyone, welcome back!! / Hola amigos, gracias por volver una nueva semana!!

In Tortosa with my companion
Not much happened this past week, we had transfers, which did not affect us here, but we just worked as usual. We did have the stake conference of L´Hospitalet this weekend and it was presided by Elder Reina de las Islas Canarias, really funny and really nice and he told us about a lot of things that we need to change in the stake. And on Saturday, nobody from Tortosa could come because it is a two and a half hour trip and a lot of money, but after talking and planning with the members, 8 people came from Tortosa!!!! With two investigators and our recent convert :) They came Sunday morning, getting up at 6 in the morning to get the train on time and then a bus after! What commitment! So don´t complain if you have to walk five minutes to church next time!
Traveling in the train to go to the stake conference

With the wonderful people that traveled from Tortosa to the conference
Well, let´s say that there are big plans for Tortosa, but we can´t say anything yet, because we don´t know what is going to happen, but keep us in your prayers!!  And the woman who was baptized last weekend, her daughter has a goal to be baptized this weekend, so please pray for her!!!

The scripture for this week is in 2 Timothy 1:8. Never be ashamed to express your knowledge of Christ!

Os quiero!!! Love you all!!!

Surprise Baptism!!!

Hey everybody! Well, I am staying in Tortosa for another transfer with Elder Montalbo, which is good, because we are about to see a lot more miracles!

So this week was normal until the end of the week came. But on Friday, we had interviews with President Pace, and in those interviews, we just talk about how everything is and what we want from our lives and missions and everything, so it was a really good experience, like always :)

But we have been working with a woman that we met about a month ago. She has known that this church has been true since day one but has been a little scared. We invited her on Thursday to be baptized that Saturday (the eleventh) and she said she would think about it. Friday comes around, and she was still not sure, and Saturday morning she calls us and says that she is ready! So we get her ready and later that day we travel to Tarragona to have her baptism and the group has embraced her like she was already a member for a long time!

Other than that, things are good here, we have other people on the brink to be baptized, and the group is growing here :) We have members trusting us more, and there is more unity here in Tortosa.

And the scripture for this week is in Helamán 5:12, which talks about how Christ is the rock that we should build upon, and I know this to be true :)

Hasta la próxima semana! We´ll see you next week!
